Creating a Mission Statement

Greetings Everyone,

I am in the process of trying to create a 'Mission Statement' for a
fledgling Office of Community Outreach.  We are a fairly small, professional
sciences university, and this office will be the first of it's kind here.  I
was hoping some of you might have been in/be in similar settings, where an
office of community outreach was just getting off the ground, and might be
able to provide some input as to what the mission statement should look
like.  

I appreciate any and all input, and will post responses/information back to
