Do you know of faculty doing service learning projects around my Soul of a Citizen book?
28 February 2002 05:13 UTC
I know of lots of faculty who've been teaching Soul of a Citizen, with
excellent responses, but am trying to find more examples of professors
who've combined the book with outside community projects. I have some, but
am trying to come up with more for a new section on my website,
www.soulofacitizen.org/servicelearning.htm, so I can encourage others to use
the book in this fashion.
If you are using the book in this way, or know anyone who is, please email
me back directly (or have the appropriate person email back) with a brief
description of how the book is being used, the kinds of projects students
are taking on, and how these outside projects are being integrated into the
classroom. I'll boil the summary down to a paragraph or two, then post it on
the site along with whatever web-link or email contact you give me, in case
faculty at other schools would like more information. You can look at the
existing draft page for the kind of information I'd like to include,
although I'll also be filling in more details on my current examples.
Thanks much.

By the way, I've also been adding new examples to the academic study
questions I have posted at www.soulofacitizen.org/studyquestions.htm and to
the comments from faculty who've been teaching the book, at
