Call for proposals - HBCU Faculty Development Symposium - 3/8 deadline

Dear SL colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the Ninth National HBCU (Historically Black College 
and University) Faculty Development Symposium:

“Building Bridges: Faculty–Students–Administrators–Community”

        October 17-20, 2002
        Doubletree Nashville
        315 4th Avenue North            
        Nashville, Tennessee

Proposals should be submitted for Interactive Workshops - 50 minute sessions of 
active audience participation and demonstrations.  Presentations and papers 
should be based on the theme of the conference and strands of the symposium, 
and should show methods used for promoting your objectives.

Proposals are sought in these categories:
Community Service/Service Learning*
*Augmented to include community service, service learning, community 
health/health awareness, economic development, etc. 
Collaborative Models
Teaching and Learning Styles/Instructional Strategies and Techniques
Curriculum Design and Revision
Diversity and Globalization
Learning Across the Curriculum
Educational Technology
Evaluation of Assessment and Learning: Outcome Based Assessment

A one page abstract of proposal and/or paper, along with a brief curriculum 
vitae, highlighting background information related to the proposal or paper, is 
due on or before March 8, 2002.  Exhibitors should call for additional 
information. Notifications of acceptance and publication guidelines will be 
sent by May 17, 2002.  Please submit abstracts to:
