citizenship and institutional/community partnerships

Hello all,

I am very grateful for all the help I have received with regards to
resources and assessment tools I have been searching for. Much
appreciated.

Here is another request. I am looking for information/literature on
the development of civic responsibility and citizenship in students
(higher education) with regards to service-learning.
Do students involved in service-learning understand actual community
needs? Do they have an understanding of the oppressive nature of our
social and political systems? Do they opportunities to collaborate
with community to address their needs and challenge these systems?

Any good texts on how civic responsibility/citizenship is constructed
and understood? what about from a social justice perspective?

Secondly, I am looking for information/literature on
institutional/community partnerships that foster civic responsibility
and citizenship. What would these look like? How can institutions
develop/transform to create such partnerships?

Thanks again, and looking forward to your responses.
Begum
