Hello Becky:
One of these suggestions is nationally-known, the other may or may not be
(not sure of how widely they circulate), but all are excellent.
Rob Shumer (former head of the National Service Learning Clearinghouse,
professor, evaluation expert, and master of process) I don't have his
contact info offhand but I know someone on the listserv would have it.
Tom Schnaubelt thomas.schnaubelt@usm.edu 601-266-6351 (head of the Center
for Community and Civic Engagement at the University of Southern
Mississippi; doing a lot of great stuff with university-school-community
partnerships, increasing buy-in from professors on university campuses,
resource development, new collaborations, and evaluation) An intense and
dynamic speaker.
Howard Bowden howbowden@aol.com (regional trainer for the LSA Exchange - has
done several workshops in Mississippi, is very adept at connecting service
to the curriculum and in helping others do that as well; a k-12 focus but
may have university experience as well) Very engaging, really pulls
participants in.
Hope this helps.

Hello Everyone,
Our office is looking for names of nationally known speakers on the topic of
service learning. We would like someone that could come to our campus for at
least a day of activities including one large public lecture for our
students, staff, faculty and the area community. We would also like to
schedule smaller sessions with university faculty who are interested in
hearing more about the concept of service-learning and ways of successfully
incorporating this into their course format.
Thanks for any suggestions you might share.
