Re: Graduate Study in Community Service/Community Development
27 February 2001 21:59 UTC
Marianne,
I would be interested in posting to this Higher Education Service-Learning
Clearinghouse website a compilation of the responses you get. Can you
forward them to me?
Meanwhile, I would suggest your student look at the Graduate School of
Education here at UCLA. http://www.gseis.ucla.edu/ There is a clear urban
focus in several divisions. In Higher Education and Organizational Change,
there is not a designated concentration in community service, but plenty of
flexibility in choosing one's area of specialization and significant
support from faculty to study community service, as well as opportunities
to TA undergraduate SL courses. Research opportunities through this
Clearinghouse or the Higher Education Research Institute are also
available. Best wishes. Lori
