The University of Texas at Austin is trying to implement a Service-Learning Program that is student initiated.  Right now the program is called Students for Service-Learning, although we are probably going to be changing the name in the future.  The purpose of the group will be to assist faculty in implementing a service compontent into their classes and as a backbone in facilitating reflection and encouraging service.  Service-Learning teminology is relatively new down here, so it is creating student recruiting problems.  I am esspecially interested in student initiated and student run programs. (We have looked closely at the UNC APPLES program, for example.)  I appreciate the help.  Thanks.
