PEER DIVERSITY FACILITATOR Training of Trainers/Facilitators

New Information on Training and Technical Assistance Capacity Building
Opportunity

CHP International is the National Training and Technical Assistance
Provider
for the Corporation for National Service for the area of Human Relations
and
Diversity. In January we sent out a notice that we are recruiting staff
members and leaders from national service network programs in the North
Central and Atlantic Clusters to become volunteer cluster diversity
facilitators for our project.

We have received requests from interested National Service Network staff
and
leaders from the Pacific, Southwest, and South Clusters to attend the TOFT
and join our network of Cluster Diversity Facilitators. In consultation
with
our Training and Technical Assistance Officer at the Corporation for
National
Service, we agreed that we want to be able to respond to as many requests
as
we can. We are now accepting a limited number of Peer Facilitators from all
clusters at the upcoming TOFT.

Cluster diversity facilitators will participate in a 4-day Training of
Facilitators/Trainers (TOFT) in Minneapolis on March 29-April 1st, 2000.
After the TOFT, cluster diversity facilitators will receive a year of
coaching
from our National Facilitation Team, including participating in two
additional training events. There is no charge for the TOFT or materials,
but cluster diversity facilitators must pay their own travel, hotel and
meal
expenses.

We encourage interested individuals to discuss the possibility of
sponsorship
for travel expenses with their organization, State Commission, National
Nonprofit Organization, State Corporation Program Office, State Education
Agency, Tribe, Territory, or program. Only staff of Corporation funded
programs or AmeriCorps, VISTA, NCCC, or NSSC Leaders can participate in
this
opportunity. Priority will be given to individuals with prior training
experience, who have participated in a diversity awareness workshop, and
come
as a part of state cross-steam team, a national nonprofit or tribal
cross-program team.

We will be reviewing applications on a competitive basis and expect to have
more applicants than positions. We are now accepting applications from all
clusters and have extended the deadline for all applicants to March 3, 2000.

Application packets are available to download from our website:
