SL and Persistence question

The Center for Public Service and Leadership at Indiana University Purdue
University Indianapolis (IUPUI) is beginning a research project that will
explore whether participation in a service learning course during the first
semester of college increases persistence to the second semester and to the
second year.  The three-year study, funded through Indiana Campus Compact,
will request participation from faculty and students at the 28 Indiana
Campus Compact member institutions.

I would welcome any suggestions for resources, scales, or other studies that
have been conducted related to service learning and retention/persistence.
