An opportunity to develop new leadership capacity in nonprofit
organizations.

New Voices, inaugurated in 1999, is a national program to help non-profit
organizations bring innovative new talent to their staffs. It awards
salary-support grants to community-based and nonprofit organizations
demonstrating a commitment to cultivating and strengthening the leadership
potential of "new voices." Through the mentoring and professional
development of the Fellows, organizations will have opportunities to
develop
innovative and practical systems which will deepen and extend their
participation and that of the New Voices Fellows in the community devoted
to
human rights and international cooperation. Eligible organizations will
address issues in the fields of international human rights, women's rights,
racial justice, migrant and refugee rights, peace and security, foreign
policy and/or international economic cooperation.

Application Deadline: February 1, 2000
