service learning projects and specific majors

they have some ideas in the specific areas that you were mentioning.  These
are not syllabi, but rather just 101 ideas for combining service and
learning.  I second Barbara Caron's suggestion to look at the campus
compact home page and the colorado service learning web site.  Good luck!

Hello everyone,

Matthew's project motivated me to inquire if anyone had personally compiled
or knew of web sites with a list of service-learning projects/ideas that
complemented academic disciplines especially in the following areas: Arts
and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering and Applied
Science, and Fine Arts. I know there are web sites with sample syllabi, but
are their sites with project ideas connected directly to majors? It would
be wonderful if we could provide a resource to faculty members and students
that included some creative project ideas or successful initiatives that
directly linked the out-of-classroom experience with specific majors. This
request is not intended to minimize in anyway the value of service-learning
experiences that do not have an obvious or immediate correlation with the
area of study. I think this resource would encourage some of our bystanders
to become active participants in this progressive learning experience. We
hope this request stimulates some interest and reactions.  Thank you.
