Dear Listserve Members,

We are writing this message to request your assistance in identifying any
potential speakers who might be able to address the concept of
"Appreciating
Diversity through Service-Learning."

We are working with a coalition of 10 colleges and universities in
southern FL, and Barry University has received a grant from the Kellogg
Foundation to bring this project to fruition. This grant will permit 4-5
faculty from each of the colleges to implement a service-learning component
into their courses; also, they will be required to attend 2 workshops, one
to orient them to service-learning, and one to report back and share
accomplishments.

The first workshop will take place late January/early February. We are
looking for speakers for this mini-conference - especially speakers who are
experts in service-learning and who come from diverse backgrounds (women,
people from under-represented groups, etc.)

If you have any information or recommendations for speakers, please reply
directly to this email. There are funds available to reiumburse travel,
hotel, meals, and a stipend for presenting. Speakers will present for 3-4
hours, and then would be available for one-on-one consulations with faculty.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Sincerely,

Andrea Monroe Karla Gottlieb
