Marine geology and service learning

Hopefully some of you all will be able to help me.  I am seeking 
information 
on how to incorporate service learning into a high school marine geology 
class.  The class covers underwater plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanos, 
erosion and weather, cartography, etc.
