Position Description
26 December 2000 18:00 UTC
Colleagues,
Please review and distribute the following position
description. While this is not a service-learning position
per se, it is in a program that uses many of the same
foundations of experiential education,e.g. reciprocity,
critical reflection, community university partnerships,
etc. It is also in a dept. that requires a freshman
community service-learning lab for all 750 of its majors.
Also a number of faculty, in addition to Janet Eyler, have
scholarly interests and projects in service-learning.
As some of you know-this is the position I have
held for the past eight years. Effective January 2001, I
will be starting a new venture in my career as a Professor
of Higher Education Administration and Senior Associate at
New England Resource Center for Higher Education (NERCHE)
at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
For the next month or so, the best way to contact
me during the transition is at this e-mail address. After
February 1, you can call me at 617 287 7601.
I look forward to staying in touch with my
service-learning colleagues.
Best Wishes for A Happy new Year.
Dwight Giles.
