Global-oriented Service Learning Projects

Has anyone had experience with service learning projects designed to raise
money to support educational efforts in third world countries?
Particularly, I would like to know if anyone has experience or knowledge
of the efforts by Bernard Krisher from the American Assistance for
Cambodia in their efforts to build schools in Cambodia, using matching
funds from the World Bank.
