WINTER FIELD STUDY IN OAXACA, MEXICO
Spanish Nonprofit Management Human Services
Public Administration

Portland State University's Institute for Nonprofit Management and the 
Division of Public Administration, Hatfield School of Government, offer a 
unique study program in Oaxaca, Mexico for students, community leaders, 
public administrators, and nonprofit managers and staff.

The land, people, and history of south central Mexico provide a vibrant 
setting for an unforgettable learning experience.

December 6-20, 2000

This immersion program includes
*Intensive Spanish language study (no previous Spanish training is 
necessary)
*Homestay with Mexican families
*Field visits to nonprofit/NGO agencies, advocacy groups, and other 
organizations
*Experience in the cultural context of one of the principal sources of the 
Northwest's newest residents and workers.

Program Information
Cost: Program costs include all language classes, site visits, and homestay. 
Transportation to and from Oaxaca and books are not included.

Program cost: $950, plus
Graduate Credit: (PA 510 Sec. 201, 3 hours) $708.50;
(PA 510 Sec. 202, 6 hours) $1345.00
Certificate Credit: $400

Dates:  In Oaxaca, Dec. 6-20. Travel days are December 5 and 21. In 
Portland, pre-trip orientation seminars will be held October 5th and 26th, 
5-6:30 p.m., October 29 from 1-7 p.m., and Nov. 30.
