California State University, Long Beach is seeking a full-time temporary Community Service-Learning Coordinator to provide assistance to the Director, Associate Director, and faculty and supervision of student assistants and interns. Salary is $2,413 - $3,500 per month. Position is a 1 year temporary with high possibility of long-term employment depending upon funding.
Under general supervision, coordinates and facilitates management of the Community Service Learning Center (CSLC). Nature of work assignments includes coordination of the clerical and administrative support functions for the CSLC, its director and associate director. Administrative support projects involve coordinating a variety of projects and programs involving faculty and students, prioritizing work assignments for self and supervisees, and monitoring through their completion, with accountability for end results and work performed by others. Projects may include service learning workshops, student training programs, database and coordination of service learning administrative activities among CSULB academic units, and representing the CSLC on committees, at community meetings and other public relations efforts of the CSLC.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required: Equivalent to four years of full time general clerical experience. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Knowledge of graphic, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing software programs. Ability to maintain databases, computer statistic files, and expenditure accounting records and reports for various funding accounts. Ability to work independently in planning and organizing work, to maintain a campus network and coordinate facilities, and to use independent judgment and problem solving skills. Ability to encourage and maintain good working relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to communicate effectively with a culturally and ethnically diverse campus community.
