Does anybody know where I could find information about the effect Service
Learning has on transfer rates from two to four year colleges?
My colleague, Carrie Afuso and I are transforming our Community
College Volunteer Center into a Community Service and Learning Center. As
part of our search for funding we are applying for an in-house "Partnership
for Excellence" grant. These are big grants the state of California has given
Community Colleges to improve education overall. We believe Service Learning
does improve education, but unfortunately we can only apply for funding under
certain categories: improving transfer rates or improving the number of
Associate degrees or certificates awarded.
We would really appreciate any leads you might have.
