FYI: SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAM for KENTUCKY Colleges/Universities

April 21, 2000 /Friday at the University of Louisville.  Program is Free.  
Box lunches can be ordered at 6.25 a piece. 
Presenters:  Peter Young, Executive Director Indiana Campus Compact & 
Angela Plank, Associate Director of Indiana Campus Compact.

    They will share information about the benefits of having a state Campus 
Compact and give us suggestions on how KY might apply if the commitment is 
there. Participants are invited to bring brochures/flyers about the Service 
Learning projects/classes, etc. their campus is involved in and  we will 
have time to network and share--and hopefully figure out how we can work 
together throughout the state.
    After the round-table, our presenters will facilitate a wkshop on 
evaluation/assessment in SL at the Higher Ed. level.
Program at a Glance:
9:30 to 10 am:  Welcome & coffee

10 to Noon:  Round-table Discussion on SL in Kentucky Higher Ed:   
"Exploring Where We Are and Examining Opportunities for Collaboration & 
Forming a State Campus Compact"

Noon-1:  Lunch

1 to 3 pm:  Workshop:  "Now What?"  Assessment and Evaluation for Service 
Learning"
(how to evaluate/assess the learning that occurs through SL projects and 
will touch on reflection methods and how to (or not to) evaluate them).
