Description: Applications for awards through the American
Bar Association's Adult Public Education
About the Law (APPEAL) Mini-Grant Program,
which promotes innovative adult-education
projects on law and the legal system. Awards
will be made for projects in three areas: law
and the family, law and the workplace, and
law and the community. In 1996, preference
will be given to projects in the last of
these categories. Five to seven grants
ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 will be awarded
in September.
Who may apply: Non-profit organizations, including
alternative and vocational schools, community
and professional organizations, advocacy
groups, libraries, and bar associations.
Preference will be given to projects in which
legal organizations and community groups work
cooperatively.
