History and Humor request

Judy Reese (jreese@mariner.rutgers.edu)

We here at the Rutgers CASE (Citizenship and Service Education)
Program are getting ready to host a series of focus groups.
We are interested in learning from our constituents "how we are
doing." At our staff meeting this morning one member suggested
that we start off with some *Service-Learning Humor* to break the
ice. So, my first request is for community service jokes or
anecdotes.
My second request is for suggested readings/articles/books on
how service (community service and/or service-learning) has been
incorporate/influenced/impacted the history of American Education.
I realize that this is not a "new" idea but I don't know where to
point those who regard us as a mere fad for historical verification.
(I do have the philosophy and research angles covered.)
Hope everyone is having a wonderful spring semester. Please
remember to e-mail me directly with any humor and/or history of
service information. jreese@scils.rutgers.edu
Thanks,
Judy
