The National Service Learning Conference, "A Gathering of Many Voices" will
be held in Detroit, Michigan April 17-20, 1996 at the Westin Hotel. The
conference sponsored by the National Youth Leadership Council is a unique and
valuable opportunity for people across the country to gather for shared
learning and service.

Planning a national conference is a challenging and intricate process, one
that requires many minds and hands. It is for this reason that we are asking
for your assistance. We would like to invite you to join in the effort to
successfully implement this exciting event.

Many volunteers are needed due to the complex nature of running a conference.
Tasks include, but are not limited to, registration, session set up and
facilitation, transportation, traffic control, tour guides, and general
assistance. Following this plea for help will be a list of roles, days, and
times when volunteers are needed.

Volunteers may attend the remainder of the conference for a registration fee
of $100. Meals and accomodations are not included. Each volunteer will
receive a t-shirt for the donation of their time.

Please contact Conference Infrastructure Committee Member Martha Cox,
Coordinator Service Learning, Grand Rapids Community College, to sign up for
your shift and to address any questions you may have about the volunteer
process. Martha may be reached in the following ways, phone: (616)771-4168,
Fax: (616)771-3884, or by e-mail: mcox@post.grcc.cc.mi.us

Thanks for your assistance.
