Our office will be hiring a new, full-time employee this summer. The

PROGRAM ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE
MINNESOTA CAMPUS COMPACT

Minnesota Campus Compact is a coalition of 44 college and university presidents
that seeks to encourage student and institutional involvement in community and
public service and to strengthen the impact of that service on the welfare of
communities and the education of students in Minnesota. Compact staff provide
training, technical assistance, funding and other resources toward these ends.
The Compact is housed at the University of St. ThomasU Minneapolis campus.

A new staff position, Program Assistant, has been created to assist the
current staff in coordinating two new campus-community programs and to perform
general office activities. For the first campus-community program, focused on
tutoring and mentoring, the Program Assistant will work with college students
and middle school students and teachers, help plan and conduct training
sessions, conduct evaluations, and maintain communication with all major
stakeholders. For the second program, focused on community development, the
Program Assistant will be responsible for contacting community-based groups,
conducting light research, writing reports and letters, and keeping accurate
records. Other office activities will include: coordinating the library
resource center; managing the organizational database; helping to oversee one
work study studentUs activities; and performing general office operations,
including answering phones, word processing, filing, mailings, etc.

This position requires an individual who has experience working with
campus community service-learning programs and/or community-based organizations.
Candidates must posses: superior organizational skills; excellent oral and
written communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively with a wide
range of people and work independently; the ability to work in a fast-paced,
professional environment and maintain flexibility; experience with Macintosh
computer applications, including Microsoft Word and FileMaker Pro; and other
relevant office skills. A bachelorUs degree and researching skills are
preferred.

This is a full-time, hourly position with excellent benefits. Annual
salary is approximately $20,000.
