The Virginia Campus Outreach Opportunity League is pleased to welcome
Camisha Jones as the new Associate Director. Camisha began her new position
Monday, June 17. Before joining VA COOL, she served two years as a Virginia
Campus Community Corps member placed at Virginia Commonwealth University
through VA COOL's Learn and Serve America Higher Education Demonstration
Program, which combines AmeriCorps with collegiate community service and
service-learning. At VCU, Camisha coordinated volunteer programs including
Alternative Spring Break and the Lunch Buddies mentoring project,
establishhed student leadership initiatives to support community service
activities, developed infrastructure at VCU for future volunteer activities
and assisted in developing service-learning training for VCU faculty.

As Associate Director of VA COOL, Camisha will oversee the Virginia Campus
Community Corps, VA COOL's Integration Grant program, and publication of the
ChainReaction Newsletter, and will assist in providing training and
technical assistance to strengthen community service and service-learning
efforts statewide.

Camisha is an alumna of the University of Richmond, where she received a
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1994. VA COOL is the statewide
office for collegiate volunteerism and service-learning. Established in
1989, VA COOL's mission is to positively affect communities, students and
institutions by promoting and enhancing campus-based service and
service-learning.
