I am faculty advisor for a student-managed organization,
Ambassador University Outreach, which has historically
involved over 75% of the student body in over 20,000 hours
of community service annually. AU Outreach has received
many commendations for service, including one from a past
U.S. President. With such a strong base of student support
I am considering constructing a course in
service-learning/public service administration.
To all who are familiar with or are currently involved in
developing or presenting courses in S-L and related areas,
please direct me to means for sample syllabi, rationale,
etc. -- elements for a proposal to the curriculum committee.
I also welcome your comments/criticism on actual courses
focused on community service/cs administration. The course
I am considering would be for undergraduates and potentially
for graduates, a means for training officers as well as for
all interested persons.
Your ideas, criticisms, etc. are welcomed. Thanks.
