Since 1964, VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) has placed
over 100,000 national service workers at agencies throughout
the United States to help find community-based solutions to
the root causes of poverty. Now part of the AmeriCorps program,
VISTA provides its volunteers with a modest living allowance,
health insurance, and a $4725 education voucher.

LibertyNet's community services program,
http://www.libertynet.org/~vols/commserv/, provides Internet training and
technical resources to nonprofit organizations and empowerment zone
neighborhoods.
Assignment description: -------------------------------------
This VISTA will coordinate all aspects of the Internet Training Program
for Non-Profits and Community Members. As the Training Coordinator, the
VISTA will be responsible for recruiting, overseeing and orienting
volunteer trainers and assistant trainers, implement hands-on courses as
designed by the LibertyNet National Site, handle training registrations, money
intake and training "books" and adapt the training program to the local
communities' needs. The Training Coordinator will find facilities for
holding all training and will be responsible for follow-up programs with
course participants
Desired skills and experience: -----------------------------
* Solid knowledge of the Internet: email, WWW, HTML, usenet, telnet, etc.
* Experience as a trainer or speaking in large groups (preferably experience
teaching Internet Skills)
* Sensitivity to community concerns when working with local groups
* Strong Organizational and Administrative Skills
