JOHN A. GRAY

Professor, Department of Law and Social Responsibility, Sellinger School of Business and Management, Loyola College, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A., and a member of the Maryland and federal bars.

He teaches legal environment,  international business law, negotiation and dispute resolution and sports law courses in Loyola's undergraduate and MBA programs. From 1995 to 2002, he served as the Faculty Coordinator for Loyola's MBA degree program at the Jesuit University in Santiago, Chile. In 1985, he was recipient of Loyola's Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award.

He co-authored The Legal Environment of Business (Southwestern 1988) and has published in a variety of journals, including The American Business Law Journal, The Villanova Law Journal, and The Labor Law Journal. His current research focuses on the uses of mediation and arbitration in non-union employment situations and on developments in employment law.

He serves as an arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINA), and is a mediator for the Baltimore District Office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He has served as a special assistant attorney general in the Securities Division of the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Maryland. At Loyola, he has also served as graduate dean and interim dean of the Sellinger School. He has served on a number of local and national nonprofit boards, including Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and on the Committee of Accreditation of the American Library Association. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Maryland and the Board of Baltimore Mental Health System,Inc.
