PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

1. Professor of Law (tenured), Department of Law and Social Responsibility, Sellinger School of Business and Management, Loyola College (1981-Present). I teach Legal Environment, Employment Law, International Business Law, and Negotiation and Dispute Resolution courses in the undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA degree programs.

Faculty Co-ordinator for the Loyola MBA degree program in Santiago, Chile.

Recipient of Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award, March 25, 1985.

2. Special Assistant Attorney General in the Attorney General's Fellows Program (July 1, 1989 to July 30, 1990), Office of the Attorney General, State of Maryland. Assigned to the Division of Securities under the supervision of Ellyn L. Brown, Securities Commissioner. Sabbatical Year from Loyola College. Responsibilities included full range of enforcement and other activities undertaken by staff attorneys. Researched focused on recently enacted financial planner amendments to Maryland Securities Law and corresponding Securities Division regulations.

3. Interim Dean and Assistant Professor of Business Law, School of Business and Management, Loyola College (1980-81). Loyola College's School of Business and Management was created June 1, 1980.

As the first Dean, it was my responsibility to conceive and implement the School's organizational and governance structure, initiate curriculum revisions, conduct a preliminary AACSB self-study, set priorities and objectives for the new School, and formulate the charter for the new School's Board of Sponsors.

Major responsibilities included faculty recruiting, appointment, promotion, tenure, and development decisions. This position entailed significant "people," planning, and budgetary experience.

4. Graduate Dean, Loyola College (1978-1980).

The Graduate School included 17 Master degree programs in Business, Accounting, Education, Psychology, Computer Science, and Speech Pathology and Audiology and averaged about 2800 students each semester at four locations. In addition to normal supervisory, management, and budgetary responsibilities, the principal responsibility of this position was to work closely with graduate degree program directors to help them set and achieve realistic objectives.

5. Associate Dean, Mercy College of Detroit (1977-78).

This position included creation of the Weekend College, and responsibility for supervision of the Learning Resources Center, the Library, the Office for Instructional and Professional Staff Development, and the Health Arts Lab.

6. American Council of Education (ACE) Fellow in Academic Administration (1976-77).

Position: Assistant to Executive Vice President, Loyola College.
